Drug rehabs is an special type of rehab for individuals with a co-occurring mental health condition. It’s not uncommon for people to have depression or bipolar disorders along with their addiction issues. You may have noticed that your loved one already had a problem before they started using drugs or alcohol. Your loved one may have started using drugs or alcohol to self medicate themselves.

It’s extremely important for people with addiction problem and mental health issues to get the right type of dual diagnosis treatment. Without the right type of treatment, the underlying mental health issue still exists. Without treatment, the mental health problems a person experiences may lead to a relapse. Treatment needs to be comprehensive, addressing all aspects of addiction.

An alcohol rehabs center that treats both addictions and mental health issues offers “dual diagnosis” treatment. You can speak with an addictions specialist at online if you are unsure about whether or not your loved one needs this type of treatment. It could make all the difference in the world to your loved one if they can finally get the drug addiction treatment they deserve. They have been suffering too long, and so have you if you had to watch them struggle daily with their demons. Family counseling with non 12 step treatment may also be available if you need it.
