This would free beds, the sick poor of the city. The group needs financial support to secure the use of another bed free. The six hundred have been the first gift for the “bed free Marie.” The group demanded money from the community of Grand Rapids and asked for donations from people named Mary, and by people who knew someone one with the name. Soon they have enough money to free the bed, the so-called free Mary grew Bed.As the Fund and have been relieved, the group of women was included, as the Guild Mary Free Bed Grand Rapids. Later, the group now known as the Hospital.By Rehabilitation Hospital Mary Free Bed 1918, the group broke up in the hospital and began caring for disabled children. From 12 beds in the guild house convalescent children was opened in 1411 Fulton Street East Grand Rapids, Michigan. The house was designated in 1935 as the orthopedic center for Western Michigan of the State Crippled Children Commission.
